The glass panel is now installed into the interior door frame.
Here are some different angles and details:
Very happy with how this turned out, love the bevels and how they create dimension and light play. Really has a lot of movement to it.
The purpose of my art is to nourish your soul through the enrichment of your surroundings with the use of customized and intentioned light, color and movement. This is achieved by creating custom stained glass windows and oil paintings.
The glass panel is now installed into the interior door frame.
I have been working on puttying the panel and just completed the back side. This is a traditional process in using either lead came, zinc came, or other type of came that the glass fits into. There is a space that the putty/cement fills in that used to be for weather proofing a stained glass panel as well as making the panel more secure, stronger.
I completed the last batch of bevels, pieced together more of the panel.
This morning when the sun was rising, the glass in the kitchen lit up and the image appeared on the window shade. I love the effect of this! I noticed this on a window in a different house we had many years ago and I make sure I have this same type of shade that I purchased in Japan to get this type of effect.
The following are images of this current group of bevels that are beginning step 3, pre polish.
The shape on the right with 2 written on it is at the 2nd stage, #3 on the left shows completion of pre polish step.
Completed with pre polish step.
Today I started hand beveling the pieces shown in previous post. This first stage entails getting the initial angles in the glass, grinding glass away to the width and angle desired.
I am starting the process of piecing together the stained glass panel:

Very exciting to be starting this process!
The full scale stained glass design for the interior door is now completed:
Back in March and April I had posted a design for a stained glass panel to be inset in an interior door. This is the design I posted:
I have since completed the door frame and hung it up:
I found out this last week that the upcoming anthology of Important World Artists Vol 6 is getting closer to being completed for the online book and the physical book will begin printing soon!
This is my page layout for the publication:

I colored in different areas with a basic idea for the color scheme.
I was having a discussion with a friend about my experience with Synesthesia and she had never heard of it before. The conversation was a lot of fun so I thought I would have a link here that tells the story of how I started verbalizing what I was seeing when listening to music and how much it influences my artwork. The link is http://isaacdsmith.com/synesthesia.php
Enjoy the journey!
I have really been enjoying looking at this painting daily, seeing how much of myself is in this piece. So much of what I have been healing from spiritually and learning the last couple of years spilled over into the depth, color, flow. I feel like my soul is laid bare on this canvas. The process was amazing, painting the colors/flowing images I have from listening to different styles of music. I am sorry that the images don't show the depth and real emotion, the texture as looking at the actual painting.
Took quite awhile and I have finally completed the oil painting!
Since the paint is not dry there is quite a bit of sheen to it and taking a good picture with a camera phone is nearly impossible. Here are a few images at different angles to capture some of the background details.
I have been in process on this painting for 2 yrs and during that time there has been a lot of healing spiritually, as a person, and being in tune with the images/colors in my head while listening to music. The yin/yang implied feel to the background represents a lot of what I have been learning in regards to so many aspects in life.
There is so much of my emotion on this canvas!
I finally was able to complete the figure portion of the oil painting! Painted the hand yesterday. I am very excited about this piece!
My family had different emergencies that pulled us away for awhile. I have been able to paint in-between different things and here is the progress so far.

A couple sections in bottom hand and then start on background.
Here is the latest on the painting progress.
As I had discussed in a previous posting, when listening to music I "see" images of different colors and shapes. I also tend to have physical sensations of the movements of these colors and shapes.
With this in mind I have been revisiting Alanis Morissette's music which I had not really listened to in several years. I hear snippets here and there but not really gone through and listened to whole songs in quite a while. I had enjoyed hearing her music in the 90s but now that I am understanding more of what I experience it is fun to really listen and enjoy the sensations and visuals.
The one that is really in tune with my spirit is Uninvited. The harmonies and the instruments used in the song are really producing wonderful imagery.
I find that these colors and fluid images are reflected in my artwork.
Here are a couple images of where I am at currently on the painting I have been working on.
Bevels completed and finishing up the assembly of the panel. After this is soldering all the joints where the came meets up with each other and then puttying. During the drying/hardening phase of the window putty I will be beveling color pieces that will be bonded on top of the clear bevels.
