Northern Lights Design

I am working on a large stained glass panel with a Aurora Borealis feel to it.  My original design had a more flowing feel to it and the client wanted something slightly different which will still look good but it is not quite what I envision.  It is a fun project.

These are part of the process so far and will post more images as the panel progresses.

Today's Inspiration!

I found these leaves and they have captivated me, the movement, shape, color!

They have reminded me of my mission, Nourish Your Soul Through a Symphony of Light and Colour!

Much needed today

Decompressing/Reorganizing after Installation

After completing the installation in Wenatchee of the sidelight panels and several smaller projects and repairs I am taking time to clean, reorganize my glass supply, and shop area.

It takes lots of time to do this but it will be worth it afterward!

Long Distance Project Installed!

The sidelights and door panels are installed! My son and I drove to Wenatchee and had a wonderful time with the clients and drove back all in one day, even though the installation went longer than planned on.

Here are a few pics of the trip and installation:

The clients love the change to their entryway and how the glass plays with the light! They now want to have the transom window done as it looks incomplete.

I love how the bevels really make this a dynamic piece, playing with the light.

Preparing for Installation of Sidelight Windows

Packing up the van for the long trip to Wenatchee today.  I am looking forward to seeing these panels in the site they were made for!

Long Distance Project Continued

Here are a few images showing the process of the 2 sidelight stained glass window project for a client in Wenatchee Washington:

This is the first one completed, I am working on cleaning and bonding the color beveled pieces on the second panel the next couple of days.  The scheduled installation is the end of this week.

Online Storefront, now up and running!

I have been working on an online storefront and am excited to say it is up and running!  I still have to do a few minor details but prints and originals are ready to be purchased and displayed in your home and / or office!

The site is Isaacdsmith1.com

I have been following Art Storefronts for a few years and am finally able to set up this avenue for my work to not only be displayed but purchased and be enjoyed by those who want to Nourish their Soul Through a Symphony of Light and Colour!

A fun feature is that once you choose a painting you can have a scene set up such as an office, a living room, a bedroom and the image will be shown to scale in the room.  You can change things such as wall color, items in the space, etc.  It really is fun to explore and have a much better visual of where it could be displayed.

I will be adding on more artwork as the weeks progress.  I look forward to hearing what you think of the store and helping you Nourish Your Soul through my artwork.

Long Distance Project

I have been working on a project for a client that is in Wenatchee, WA and I am Vancouver, WA area. The process for long distance is slightly different as I have to take pictures and send to the client and vice versa.

This started out by the client contacting me and sending me pictures of the entryway and what windows they wanted stained glass.

I requested dimensions and gave them a price range which they then let me know what their budget is and a design they really liked on my website.  I collected a deposit to begin working on the design process. Once completed I took a picture of the design and sent it to them via email so they can see it on a larger screen than their phone.

I mailed samples of the different glass to them so they can see what the glass looks like in the space.  I do this with every client because the glass will look different in the space it is going into compared to just holding it up or taking a picture of it.  They chose the colors and clear textures they like the best and sent a deposit to order supplies and begin the fabrication process.

I have been working on one of the sidelights, creating the clear bevels and piecing it all together.

Once the panels are completed I will be delivering and installing them into the sidelights.  Not all projects are to the scale where I can afford to do the install.  I sometimes just ship it and the client is able to install or have someone help them.

I will post more images and the progression as I go along.

Client Testimonial- Hummingbird Window

I received an email from Susan, the client who commissioned me to make her a Hummingbird stained glass  for her transom window.
Here is what she had to say about the process:

Dear Isaac,

I want to thank you for designing and creating our beautiful hummingbird stained

glass window!  It is so beautiful and light! Your design and choice of colors are

awesome.  This is a lifetime treasure.

Having it over our entryway we see it multiple times a day.  The colors change

depending on the time of day and the beveling of the bird's feathers reflect light

and create movement. They are exquisite!  It was a pleasure working with you! I really appreciated you keeping me in the loop with the progress along the journey. I would highly recommend your creative work to anyone.

Thank you for the joy you have brought to our home.

Sincerely,

Susan

This was a fun project and a pleasure working with her on this. Thank you Susan for the opportunity.

Installation of the Hummingbird panel was a couple days ago on the 12th.  I am very pleased as well as the client with how it turned out.
The following is before and after pictures of the window as well as a couple of detail images.
